New year. New Month. And that means new free games for PlayStation Plus members. In the past, we covered every new PS+ free game announcement with its own post but in 2021, for your convenience, and ours, we will compile the full list of games each month in one place: this article. Feel free to bookmark this and check in periodically to see if the next month's games are announced. And for those wondering what the value of each free game is, we will also include the price of that game (as listed on the PlayStation Store) next to the title.
January 2021

A few things to note for this month is that only the PS5 version of Maneater is free, so even though the game is out on the PS4, it will not run on that system. However, you can still go to the PlayStation Store anytime in January and add it to your library so when you get your hands on a PS5 the game will be ready for you. Also, in two days, on January 4, Bugsnax will no longer be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers so be sure to grab the game before it leaves.
February 2021
- Destruction AllStars ($19.99)

Destruction AllStars was originally supposed to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5 but when it was delayed it was also announced that it will be a free limited-time release for PlayStation Plus members much like Bugsnax. This means that not only will Destruction AllStars be free on February 2nd, it will also release on that day as well. Unlike the other two games for this month, which expire at the start of March, players have until April 5th to grab Destruction AllStars. It's noted that Control: Ultimate Edition, which comes with all the previously released DLC for the game, will be playable on PS5 and PS4. Until now only the PS4 version of the game was available for purchase so this could be the release of the PS5 version as well. On the PlayStation Blog, they mention that certain PS5 features such as the build-in game guides for Trophies and puzzles will be available for Control.
March 2021
- Final Fantasy VII Remake ($59.99)

Four free games available this month but some things to keep in mind. Firstly, we will be getting the PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake and though it is playable on the PS5, it cannot be upgraded to the next-gen version of the game that was announced in yesterday's State of Play. Speaking of the State of Play, one of next month's PS Plus games has already been revealed to be Oddworld Soulstorm. It will be available in April but until then make sure you pick up Destruction AllStars. Lastly, Maquette, which will release on March 2 and go straight to PS Plus, is a PS5 exclusive so you cannot play the game on a PS4. All said and done, this is the best value PS Plus members have gotten so far this year.
April 2021
- Oddworld: Soulstorm ($49.99)

- Zombie Army 4: Dead War ($49.99)
Three new games are coming to PlayStation Plus in April. As was previously announced, Oddworld: Soulstorm will be free for the PlayStation 5 and, although the game is releasing on the PlayStation 4, that version will not be included for PS+ members. Days Gone is also included for players who haven't already claimed it on their PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Collection. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is the latest entry in the long-running Zombie Army series and perhaps its biggest selling point is that it has a roughly 10-hour campaign that has you and up to four friends fighting the undead in the alternate history Europe. The free games don't end there! PlayStation is also giving away ten games as part of their Play at Home Initiative in the month of April so click here to find out more about that.
May 2021

Once more, PlayStation is delivering another strong PS+ lineup. As per usual, all games are playable on the PlayStation 5, but Wreckfest is not playable on the PS4. To throw in a bit of hypothesis, rumors seem to suggest that EA and DICE will announce the next Battlefield game sometime in May. This could explain why Battlefield V was included in the lineup for this upcoming month. And for those of you who are unaware, PlayStation is currently testing out PlayStation Plus Video Pass, an addition to existing PS+ memberships that lets members watch around 20 movies including Zombieland: Double Tap, Bloodshot, and more. No word yet on when it will expand to the rest of the world but this seems to be a way boasting the membership feature list against the Xbox Game Pass.
